SCAT fixed bus route fares and passes and SCAT Plus fares:

SCAT Plus / Paratransit Shared Ride or Silver Card Service

Silver card eligibility

In compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA), SCAT provides Paratransit Shared Ride Service (SCAT Plus) to anyone with a disability who cannot use the SCAT fixed-route bus service and who is traveling in Sarasota County.
SCAT Plus or SCAT Silver Card Program, is intended only for those trips that the person cannot make on SCAT fixed-route buses.
To be eligible for this service an application form must be completed and approved.

For SCAT Plus / ParaTransit reservations call 861.1234, then push "Option #1"

Monday - Thursday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Friday from 7 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. (last reservation call is taken at 4:45 p.m.)

SCAT Gold Card or Discounts for Seniors

Sarasota County Area Transit provides two special cards - the Gold and Silver for area riders. The Silver card must be obtained through the Silver Card Application.
SCAT Gold card eligibility

Passengers 65 years of age or older and/or handicapped can ride SCAT for half price.
The SCAT Gold Card will allow you to ride any regular SCAT bus for half the normal fare all day, everyday.
To obtain your free SCAT Gold Card call the general office for information on a distribution point near you.
To use the SCAT Gold Card, show your card to the SCAT bus operator as you board the bus.
The SCAT Gold Card must be displayed each time you ride SCAT.

SCAT Gold card requirements

The required information for a SCAT Gold Card: proof of age using a Medicare card, driver's license, or birth certificate, certification of handicap, a form to be completed by your doctor or agency.

SCAT Medicaid Bus Pass
Sarasota County Area Transit offers individuals meeting the criteria under the Medicaid Program a special Medicaid Bus Pass.

For a minimum cost of $2 per month the Medicaid bus pass allows unlimited trips on the SCAT fixed bus route system.
When you sign up for the Medicaid Bus Pass Program, you cannot use the SCAT Plus door-to-door transportation.
